Bubolz construction update

The Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve, located in Appleton, Wisconsin, held a sneak-peek tour of their new environmental center and microgrid for the public.

Even though it's just the basic structure right now, signs mark where future areas will be including; a library and student research center, exhibit spaces preserving the center's flora, fauna and diverse ecosystems, a toddler play-and-learn area, indoor and outdoor classrooms, gift shop, meeting rooms and banquet space for weddings and events.

The nature center partnered with Faith Technologies in this initiative, who designed a state-of-the-art microgrid that will power the building using renewable energy, including solar and gas. This is a first of its kind microgrid in Wisconsin and will serve as an educational resource, demonstrating the highest level of environmentally friendly energy production.

The new environmental center will be completed by the end of 2017.
